Blanot FranceMont-Saint-Romain

Not far from the village of Blanot rests Mont-Saint-Romain. At 1900 feet high Mont-Saint-Romain offers a wonderful view of the neighboring countryside, which includes vineyards, farms and forest. Not to mention sunrises and sunsets as atop Mont-Saint-Romain you have a 360° panoramic view.

For easy viewing there is a small observation tower with an orientation table. On a clear day it is possible to see the Alps from Mont-Saint-Romain.

Like Blanot itself Mont-Saint-Romain for a time was under the control of Cluny starting in 927. A church was built on Mont-Saint-Romain used by monks for a time. The church then became a chapel and finally a hermitage that was sold in 1792.

In addition Mont-Saint-Romain has a number of hiking trails, a restaurant and a rental home for tourists.
