Below are photos of the Maginot Line fortress near the Alsacien town of Marckolsheim, 45-minute drive from Strasbourg. This fortress has been turned into a museum and memorial, 1-euro entrance fee, which houses well-preserved military hardware. This fortress was one of the last to surrender to German forces in June 1940.
