Outside FranceLiestal Fire Parade

The Liestal Fire Parade (Chienbäse) takes place on the Sunday after Ash Wednesday and starts just after sundown, about 7pm. It really is a parade of fire, as a mix of torch-bearers and human pulled burning iron wagons march their way through Liestal.

Liestal is 17km (11 miles) south of Basel in Switzerland.
