Village du livre - Village of books

What else can you call a village with 20 bookstores and a monthly Marché du Livre – book fair on the first Sunday of the month?

The main street where many of the bookshops are, starts from the village square with the War Monument and runs through the town. You can’t miss it just look for the big books.

Other attractions to visit include Centre EDEN, a nature center where visitors can learn about the environment and Notre-Dame church dating from 1504. Both are well marked. For the church follow signs for ‘Église.’

During the monthly Marché du Livre there are free guided tours (in French) of Notre-Dame church from 3-4.15pm.

Cuisery is in the Bresse Bourguignonne on the D975 road to that runs from Tournus to Louhans. So if you are heading to (or coming from) Louhans or the Bresse Bourguignonne you’ll pass through Cuisery.
