Chamonix Valley Photographic WalksDecember/January 2012/2013

Unusual and secret itineraries for the curious photographer and world traveler. An ideal activity for non-skiers. Be inspired by getting behind the scenes to discover, taste and photograph the unique neighborhoods and hamlets of the Chamonix valley. Accompany the photographer TERESA KAUFMAN as she opens doors to meet with chefs, artists, guides. Special attention for original photo perspectives.

CHAMONIX - PERSPECTIVES, PASSAGE-WAYS AND FINE CUISINE - 20€
An enticing walk through the center of town yet off the beaten-track into little-known neighborhoods with hints and clues to some great local spots. The famous chef Mickey Bourdillat of the Michelin-starred BISTROT welcomes us into his bustling kitchen for a photo session. A tempting destination after the walk for a fine dining experience at an unbeatable price. Reservations advised.

CHAMONIX - LES MOUILLES AND THE WIBAULT PAINTING TRADITION - 20€
We wind through little-known streets to get to Lionel Wibault in the quiet and quaint neighborhood of Les Mouilles. This artist, guide and storyteller welcomes us to his studio to talk about his two passions: painting and mountain-climbing.

CHAMONIX - FROM SUN TO SUNSET & SWEET CONFECTIONS OF A MASTER CHEF - 35€
We walk up an ancient (snowy) cow path to a little-known neighborhood where no cars can climb.
Late-afternoon light on the Mont Blanc assures splendid photographs.. Michelin-starred Raphaël Vionnet prepares for us a sweet treat in front of the fire at the Auberge du Bois Prin.

CHAMONIX - HIDDEN PATHS & OLD FARMS FOLLOWED BY HIGH TEA - 30 €
A labyrinth of paths takes us to a typical neighborhood of beautiful old farmhouses facing the Mont Blanc. High tea with cakes awaits us in a cosily restored palace-hotel.

SERVOZ - A COUNTRY VILLAGE OF IRRESISTABLE CHARM - 20€
Marc Serres, the chef of Restaurant des Gorges de la Diosaz (BIB Michelin) invites us into his kitchen while he prepares lunch. We then meander through the old-town to photograph the colourful farm-chalets and the baroque church. May I suggest: plan for lunch at Marc Serre’s place after the walk.

VALLORCINE - NORTHERN POLAR LIGHT JUST DOWN THE ROAD - 20€
No need to travel to the North Pole to get the feel. Vallorcine provides us with a most exotic nordic environment along her snowy paths. The sun is rare at, the solstice but exquisite for photographs. Dress warmly; charge your batteries - and those of your camera.
