Chamonix Valley Photographic Walks April/May 2015

The Photo Walks continue to provide an innovative way for world-travelers and photography buffs to discover and capture scenes and scenery of the Chamonix valley. Along with the now classic OPEN Photo Walk that has already pleased so many amateur photographers, there will also be a ONE TO ONE private photo-coaching Walk geared to the photographer keen to progress while in action.

Two different ways to enjoy the Photo Walks:

• PHOTO WALKS 'OPEN' - starting at 25€ per person with a minimum of 5 participants.
  Guaranteed departure with a minimum of 5 persons.
• PHOTO WALKS 'ONE TO ONE' - 150€, flat rate per walk. Large choice of itineraries Guaranteed departure with a minimum of 1 person. Refer to the liste of ONE TO ONE Walks Duration : Plan on a half-day. Pleasant walking on country roads and paths. Shoes with good soles. Walking poles, if you like, according to your custom.

CHAMONIX - FROM SUN TO SUNSET & SWEET CONFECTIONS OF A MASTER CHEF - 40€
We walk up an ancient path to a little-known neighborhood where no cars can climb. Late-afternoon light on the Mont Blanc assures splendid impressions. Amazing dessert chef Cyril Gerard will have prepared for us a sweet-treat creation at the Michelin-starred Auberge du Bois Prin. Plus a prelude peak at the first flowers to bud and bloom in the famous garden of owner Denis Carrier.

TRÉLECHAMPS - A PRESERVED ENVIRONNEMENT IN A STORY-BOOK SETTING - 25€
Brilliant contrasts of light and shadow are to be experienced on this protected plateau of forest, pastures and traditional chalets. Wonderful photographic opportunities for photographers as well as for families with young children. A rare and confidential destination.

CHAMONIX - OFF THE BEATEN PATH, LUNCH AND AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE CHEF - 45€
The Michelin-starred Chef Mickey Bourdillat has been welcoming PHOTO WALK photographers into his kitchen for the past four years. A unique opportunity to see and capture the makings of a gastronomic lunch. After the photo shoot, we will take the by-ways through town into a well-hidden neighborhood before returning to the BISTROT for lunch. Reserve early. Beverages not inlcuded.

VALLORCINE - PARTICIPATE IN THE 2016 PHOTO EXPO WITH THE PHOTO WALKS - 40€
The unique atmosphere of Vallorcine, its inhabitants, its black cows, its architecture and gardens will be the subject-matter for this work in progress throughout the year. Participate on a PHOTO WALK and have your image exhibited in 2016. A great walk for families.
A maximum of 5 persons on this walk. -50% for children. See details to particpate.
Rendez-vous: 13:30 in front of the Vallorcine SNCF train station.

SERVOZ - EARLY SPRING IN A RURAL VILLAGE JUST IN TIME TO MILK THE COWS - 25€ Servoz is the first village to be in flower due to the amount of sun that shines late into the day. A steep path takes us amongst orchards and wooden farms until we reach the barn of Xavier Croz just in time for the cows to be milked. Red cows, early blossoms, late afternoon sun will be our treat.

PHOTO WALKS - ONE TO ONE

The advantages of a private PHOTO WALK & coaching: This type of WALK is designed to provide personal attention regarding your level and interest, be it technical photography or just concentration on a theme, allowing you to obtain a more mature photographic result. But more than anything, it will allow you to delve a bit deeper into what makes up life in these mountains. With or without a camera. Year-round upon reservation.

One price: 150€ for 1 person up to 8 persons (for a pre-composed group) Duration: half a day. Reservations necessary. CHAMONIX - A NEIGHBORHOOD OF GARDENS FACING THE SUN AND THE MONT BLANC
The sunniest side of town where flower gardens and well-exposed hill-sides will begin to bloom with primerose and lupins. Our path meanders through an untouched neighborhood where no cars can climb. The highlight is a visit to Denis Carrier's flowering vegetable patch of the Auberge du Bois Prin.

VALLORCINE - PARTICIPATE IN THE 2016 PHOTO EXPO WITH THE PHOTO WALKS
The unique atmosphere of Vallorcine - its inhabitants, its black cows, its architecture - will be the subject-matter for this work in progress throughout the year. Each participant will be invited to expose the image of his choice captured during one of the PHOTO WALKS in Vallorcine on the theme of FOUR SEASONS. A great walk for families. LES HOUCHES - ISOLATED HAMLETS NESTLED IN A NATURAL SETTING & WHAT A VIEW!!
Perhaps the most impressive perspective of the Mont Blanc range is found in this natural setting. We will climb, by car, to the top of Coupeau where traditional alpine huts benefit from extraordinary sun and a rare sense of space. The favorite walk of photographers, children and nature-lovers.

LES BOIS - PHOTO & SKETCH WITH LIONEL WIBAULT, RENOWNED PAINTER & GUIDE
The well-known painter of dramatic mountain scenes will set up his easel on this walk which takes us through the charming rustic village of Les Bois. Besides talking about perspective and composition - which photographers love - Lionel is a remarquable story-teller. This walk will appeal to artists using different mediums of expression. The walk's availability will depend on Lionel's availability.

SWITZERLAND - CLOSE BY YET SO DIFFERENT; FINHAUT & THE CHARM OF GIETROZ
Only ten minutes from the border where the 19th century resort of Finhaut unveils her elegance. But it is down the path where we discover the pearl of Gietroz, an ancient hamlet isolated between forest and prairies where the unique Walser architecture can be admired. An unexpected treasure.

TO CELEBRATE THE GOLDEN AGE OF MOUNTAINEERING : A WALK BACK IN TIME TO A SHEPHERDS' PASTURE OF THE 19th CENTURY. LET'S DRESS FOR THE OCCASION!
As in the old days, we will follow a cow trail to the alpine pasture of Charousse, steeped in architectural authenticity and jealously protected to preserve its remarquable beauty. In order to be part of this moving scene, why not dress in style with - a wooden cow prod, a straw hat, country-style shirt, mid-calf skirt and apron... just for the fun of it. It will make for a great photograph!
